Bright Mats
Brief Outline
Bright Mats are brightly coloured interlocking mats, made from very durable EVA (Closed Cell Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) This is the same hygienic material we use for pharmacies, and durable material we use for our famous Karate floors.
EVA will not absorb any moisture at all- so it is easily washable and very hygienic. Many nursery and primary schools have switched from carpet to our Bright Mats for health reasons.
Unlike carpets, Bright Mats do not trap dust and dirt particles, which cause allergies. Christiane de Duve (Nobel Laureate) and many other researchers, stress the importance of strong contrasting colours in stimulating the development of children's brains. Flooring provides a stimulating background for children's play-and hence to brain development.
Bright Kid mats should not be used on under floor heating as this may distort them. They will provide significant insulation against the cold, and will not be affected by stand alone heaters.

We developed a brand new product called “BRIGHT SPOTS” especially for outdoor play areas. Bright Spots are discs made from EVA foam. They will not be affected by rain or full sun, and can be placed underneath a Jungle Gym to help cushion falls. You will need to surround them with a border (for example of wooden planks or some other material) so they do not spread out.
The picture below shows 6kgs of Bright Spots, which covers an area of 1m x 1m x 8 cms, and costs R750.
A 2kg bag will cost R250. These prices include VAT and exclude transport.
Please note that no cushioning material, including Bright Spots or Bright Mats, can ever guarantee that a child will not be injured when falling, and constant adult supervision is essential.
From Garage to Playroom - One Square Meter Mats

Many couples are moving into condominiums with limited play space. The garage is usually empty during the day, but no child should play on a concrete surface. The brand new 1-meter square bright Mats provide an ideal safe, hygienic and stimulating play surface. The mats do not even need to be removed when the cars are parked. Bright Kid produces tyre strips to protect the mats under parked cars

Bright Mat specifications
- The interlocking mats are 50cms x 50cms or 1m x 1m
- They are 8mm, 12mm or 20mm thick
- Approximately In the 50cm x 50cm mats one in seven mats will be made of two halves of 50cm x 25cm
- In the 1m x 1m mats, every third mat will be joined. This will not affect the mat performance or quality
- They are available in bright or pastel colours
- Special colours are available on request
- The 8mm mats are R220 per square meter, the 12mm mats are R295 per square meter, and the 20mm mats are R590 per square meter
- The prices include VAT but exclude delivery
- Please note that under floor heating should NOT be used with Bright Mats. Under floor heating could distort the mats
